Elected MP for North Tayside from 1997 to 2001, John Swinney MSP has also represented his North Tayside Constituency since the inception of the Scottish Parliament in 1999. He was SNP Leader in the Scottish Parliament from 2001 to 2004 and is now Convener of the Scottish Parliament's European and External Relations Committee. John graduated with an MA Honours in Politics from Edinburgh University and lives near Blairgowrie, in his North Tayside Constituency. Well liked as an excellent constituency MSP, John has been an advocate for the work of the SEER Centre since its inception in Tayside in 1996.
