As the current President of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, Alistair Lamont MBE is also Managing Director of Scotland based WamCal Ltd. The former is the leading national organisation dealing with all aspects of waste whilst the latter is an established UK organisation for training, assessment, research and consultancy for Wastes and Environmental Management. Alistair previously worked with Dundee City Council’s scheme that pioneered the use of composting to deal with biodegradable waste and produce the now established Discovery Compost. During his time with Dundee City Council he introduced of the wheeled bin kerbside recycling for paper and for compost. Alistair has been a supporter of the SEER Centre for some considerable time. It is through attracting and holding the calibre of this standard of professional that gives the real gravitas to the work of the SEER Centre. He was also awarded an MBE in June 2004 for services to sustainable waste management.
